On February 17, 1973, Barranquilla Mayor Eduardo Oslo Carbonell was honored by the Tampa Jaycees during his weeklong visit, where he participated in the Gasparilla Festival as a guest of Mayor Dick Greco and was made an honorary member of the local Jaycees.
