In the wake of devastating floods that have swept through Porto Alegre, our sister city in Brazil, we urgently call for your support. This catastrophic event has left tens of thousands of people without homes and basic necessities and has tragically claimed over 80 lives, with many more unaccounted for.
How You Can Help
As a part of our commitment to our sister city, Tampa Sister Cities is spearheading a donation drive to provide immediate relief and support long-term recovery efforts in Porto Alegre. Every contribution makes a difference:
- Financial Donations: The funds will go directly to emergency relief operations, providing food, water, medicine, and temporary shelter to those affected.
- Supply Donations: We are thrilled to announce that we are suspending our collection efforts due to the overwhelming support for our Tampa Sister Cities Aid Drive for Porto Alegre and Rio Grande do Sul. The generosity of our community has been incredible, and we are now focusing on transporting and delivering the collected items to those in need.
