About Our Japan Search Committee
The Tampa Sister Cities Japan Search Committee was established to identify and cultivate meaningful international partnerships with cities in Japan. In 2025, the committee formally began outreach efforts and has already conducted promising meetings with the mayors of several Japanese cities. These early diplomatic engagements represent an important step toward selecting an ideal sister city that shares cultural, educational, and economic interests with Tampa. The committee is committed to fostering mutual understanding, cultural exchange, and long-term collaboration between Tampa and a future Japanese sister city.
